Artesia (Volume One) – Beginning the adventure…

Lucas (human) – A twelve year old human boy with dark hair who loves Leonardo Da vinci’s works and the art of painting but struggles with confidence as he is being bullied at School but has a good sense of logic and right and wrong, little does he know what adventure awaits for him in the Realm of Artesia. |

Lucy (human) – Lucas’s fiery impulsive human sister who leads with her sense of adventure but sometimes forgetting to think things through. She also has an affinity for objects that don’t belong to her. Oh and she hates scary things but she is strong and determined to get home but also do the right thing. |

Salai (creature) – A gnomish looking Monticiello creatures from the Italian lore. His family comes from a long line of monticiello’s that are one of the natural peoples in Artesia. Most of these gnome-like beings also belong to the “Order of Concordia” or at least know a family member that does. |

The Guardian/Giuseppe (human) – A human sorcerer who was Leonardo’s Da Vinci friend back on Earth before one fateful day he accompanied Leonardo to Artesia to apprehend Michelangelo (a story from another day). The Guardian has traveled back and forth from Earth a few times over the years but it has been many years since he was last there. A born leader, when Leonardo Da vinci left Artesia fleeing back to Earth (never to be heard from again) The Guardian ruled for many years before internal strife and political turmoil (and several wars and catastrophies) forced him to step down. Since time works differently and essentially stops for humans in the Realm of Artesia, he was able to live many thousands of years and gain much wisdom and knowledge about conjuring and other magic. Salai lives with him in the Village of Custode. |

Wholio (creature) – A native creature species of green owl who inhabits the Forest of Ithica. Not much is known about his origins however our little amnesia friend (only recently) is now lookign for his parents. He has many hidden magical abilities but his greatest power seems to be helping others even though sometimes he is the one who needs help. Will he find his parents? |

The Lady Tyrant Queen (human? creature? Monster?) – A dark evil queen who rules Artesia at the beginning of the book. a most hated Lady that Leo the bartender calls her “the Lady Tyrant (Queen)”. No one knows her true origins and she likes to keep it that way. She rules the realm with a iron and selfish fist. “No artists!” she cries sometimes, after remembering and also enacting laws to ban artistic expression (and even color!) in her towns and villages. the only village left unscathed is the Village of Custode because the Guardian is more powerful and can protect that village. Her quest to rid the realm of happiness is having a disasterous effect on the realm itself! without happiness and art, the two most important ingredients for Artesium growth (and the main element for conjuring magic) the realm is suffering. if it stops growing all together it could cause the realm… or rather.. the Artesian universe to disappear! no one really knows what will happen. Someone has to stop her!

Leonardo Da Vinci (human) – Creating the realm and everything in it. He was the creator, as close as being a god as one can be. Long after he left Artesia, Leonardo lived out his life on Earth until his death in 1519 A.D. as Earth history records it. Some say his spirit sitll inhabits Artesia’s realm. His work and his legacy live on in Artesia even though its been through some tough times. |
